The hilariously ghoulish Hammond family are returning for another season of Santa Clarita Diet. The hit Netflix show, starring Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, and Liv Hewson, will continue to follow the unconventional, suburban family as they quell the flesh-eating desires of their matriarch. This time around, at least according to the teasers in the newly released trailer, Sheila (Barrymore) realizes that she's immortal and asks husband Joel if he'll allow her to bite him so that they can remain a couple forever...or until one of them is taken out by a zombie-slaying assassin. The latter, by the way, looks to be an serious danger, as a group of foes are stalking the family in an effort to take out Sheila as they've discovered what she is.

Barrymore has said that she didn't want people to just look at SCD as something scary. "This is not a horror-genre show," she said. "It’s about a family that is trying to make daily life work...I like seeing a show about a surviving team and family. We’re in a decaying society of people not being able to make it work, so this show offers some optimism."

Santa Clarita Diet's creator, Victor Fresco, previously told Vulture that they wanted to keep the creative process open as the show progressed. "We wanted to keep ratcheting it up," Fresco said. "I didn’t know at the very beginning exactly where it was going to go at the end...We knew vaguely where it was going. We didn’t know what the end would be, but I knew we wanted to keep dialing up, increasing the stakes. I think, tonally, we want to stay in the same area that we’re in, and we want to keep that relationship intact. So we like to work our way into a tough place and then try to work our way out of it."

Santa Clarita Diet Season 3 will be released on Netflix on March 29.
