According to BBC, Playboi Carti, real name Jordan Carter, was ordered to pay an £800 after he was convicted of assault and causing damage to luxury coach bus. The rapper will have to pay £500 for the assault and another £300 for busting up the window of the bus. Carti previously denied assaulting the officer, but he did admit that he caused damage to the bus.
The incident reportedly occurred during a trek from Glasgow To London after the heating on the bus stopped working. The bus, which carried Carti and fourteen members of his entourage, stopped at the Gretna Services in order for the driver to try to repair the issue. However, he wasn't able to get the bus started again. A replacement bus was sent with two drivers but didn't have the same facilities as their original vehicle which Carti and co. paid $30K to use for three weeks.
"I saw things being thrown around the tour bus and then a man ran across and punched the driver on the face, cutting him and knocking his glasses off," one of the drivers, Alistair MacLeish, said. "It was the accused Carter who had been standing with a group but as two guys tried to restrain him he wriggled past them ran across and punched the driver who stumbled back. The driver did not do anything to him and did not retaliate."
Carti's managers said the rapper acted out of self-defense, claiming the German bus driver was "angry and agitated."
