Hip hop fans are waiting for more information regarding rapper Tekashi 6ix9inine's criminal court case, but that doesn't mean that he's still not a hot topic in the streets. 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, faces a number of charges that include conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery. The 22-year-old is looking at up to 47 years in prison, but if he takes the plea deal that's presented to him, he may avoid jail time if he takes the stand against others involved in his alleged crimes.
Prior to his arrest, 6ix9inie made a name for himself not only because of the hit songs that he created, but because of the viral attention he commanded. The rapper would often troll his fellow artists, engaging in back and forth beef that created rivals in hip hop. While tension between artists is nothing new, some saw what 6ix9ine was doing was just disrespectful and unnecessary. When 6ix9ine was going after Chief Keef, there were video clips posted on social media of the rapper shopping with Keef's baby mother. Trippie Redd became a target when 6ix9ine shared images online of himself in bed with Redd's ex-girlfriend, Ayleks.
Rapper Nipsey Hussle recently visited 92.3 The Real and chatted with Big Boy about 6ix9ine, saying that everyone should have just ignored him because he was already on a path of self-destruction. "Even when we started seeing a lot of the Tekashi 6ix9ine stuff, when he started coming at certain people those were people we thought, 'Man, they'll get him,'" Big Boy said. "They knew to just..."
"And you see the outcome," Nipsey chimed in. "That's why the public gotta be more—You can't even really get on Tekashi, you gotta demand more from the public. You got people reacting to how the public reacting to Tekashi disrespecting them...The public should not even react to clown s**t. The public should follow the real n****s, if the real n****s ain't reacting so y'all don't react. Put the dude on goofy time and just let him sit over here doing what he doing 'til that s**t expire, 'cause it always gonna self-destruct, clearly."
