With Captain Marvel ruling the box office this weekend, many fans of the MCU were impressed by the hero's abilities, asking why she hadn't been introduced earlier. While some have been trying to destroy the reviews of the film by offering poor ratings before even seeing the movie, others quite enjoyed the latest Marvel flick. However, many diehard fans of the Avengers left the theater asking why Nick Fury hadn't paged Captain Marvel before that point. Surely, she could have been a major weapon during Infinity War. Well, Kevin Feige heard the remarks and offered his own explanation as to why Captain Marvel is only being introduced to the universe now.
Speaking with Slash Film, Marvel President Kevin Feige explained that Captain Marvel said only to page her in case of a real emergency. He reiterates that fact in his response. "One, she does say it’s gotta be a real emergency, right? Yeah… The other thing I’d say is how do you know he never hit it? How do we know he never pushed it before? We’ve never seen him push it before. That doesn’t mean he never did."
With Captain Marvel now a major part of the Cinematic Universe, how do you see Marvel utilizing her moving forward?
