The NBA All Star Weekend kicks off tonight, February 15, in Charlotte with the annual Celebrity All-Star Game, followed by the Rising Stars Challenge featuring the games rookie and second-year players.
As always, All Star Saturday night will consist of the Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest and Dunk Contest. The All Star festivities will conclude on Sunday night with the 68th annual All Star Game, pitting Team LeBron against Team Giannis.

Celebrity All-Star Game

The 2019 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game will feature a Home team of celebs with Carolina ties, such as former Panthers WR Steve Smith and actor JB Smoove, against an Away team that includes 2018 Celebrity Game MVP Quavo, and NBA Hall of Famer, Ray Allen.
Additionally, both rosters will include “Hometown Heroes.” Jason Weinmann, who helped rescue North Carolina flood victims during Hurricane Florence, will play on the home team, and James Shaw Jr., who disarmed a gunman at a Waffle House in Nashville will be hooping for the away team.

The 2019 Rising Stars Challenge will once again feature a Team USA vs Team World format, with Kyrie Irving coaching the USA squad and Dirk Nowitzki manning the World roster.
Team USA includes Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, Brooklyn Nets center Jarrett Allen, Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III and guard De’Aaron Fox, Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma, Atlanta Hawks forward/center John Collins and guard Trae Young, Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr., Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and New York Knicks' rookie Kevin Knox (in place of Lonzo Ball).

Skills Challenge

The Taco Bell Skills Challenge features eight players competing in a timed obstacle course that tests their dribbling, passing and shooting. The event is broken up into three rounds, with the players paired up in a one-on-one format. The fastest time advances to the next round until the winner is crowned.
Participants include: Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, Mike Conley, De'Aaron Fox, Kyle Kuzma and Nikola Vucevic.

3-Point Contest

The annual 3-Point Contest will take place after the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.
Five racks of basketballs will be spread around the 3-point line, four of which consist of four balls worth one-point, as well as a "money ball" worth two points. The fifth rack features five money balls, and can be placed wherever the shooter desires (corner, wing, or top of the key).
The 10-man contest is composed of two rounds, with the three highest-scoring players from the first round advancing on to the finals.

The last event of All Star Saturday night is the Slam Dunk Contest, which the NBA is now simply calling the "Slam Dunk."
Participants include New York Knicks guard Dennis Smith Jr., Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins, Charlotte Hornets rookie Miles Bridges, and OKC Thunder rookie Hamidou Diallo.
Rules for the 2019 Dunk Contest are as follows (H/T NBA.com):
All four competitors get two dunks in the first round, and have a maximum of three attempts to complete each dunk in both the first round and the final round. Five judges score every dunk on a scale of 6 to 10, resulting in a high score of 50 and a low score of 30.
The two players with the highest combined score for their two dunks advance to the final round, where they will dunk twice more. The player with the highest combined score for his two dunks in the final round will be crowned champion.
