This entire Nicki Minaj and Cardi B feud has evolved past a hip-hop beef and spilled into the world of fashion. After Minaj took to her Queen Radio program on Mondy (October 30) to call Cardi out, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper clapped back with a scathing response of her own. Cardi claimed that she was offered a deal from Diesel before the company decided to work with Minaj. In response, Minaj clapped back stating that Steve Madden had approached her for a deal first before working with Cardi. The tit for tat debate prompted Madden to respond, and he called Minaj a liar. The designer is most likely somewhere right now wishing that he had kept his mouth shut.
50 Cent first took to Instagram with hard evidence, citing a 2015 Vibe interview where Madden admits to wanting to work with Minaj. In the interview, Madden stated, "We were thinking of doing something, and I would’ve, but I was with Iggy and I thought, 'Coke and Pepsi.' It was a mistake. I made a mistake and I wish that I could go back in time and work with Nicki instead of Iggy." Now Iggy is corroborating the story as well, as it appears that Madden may have conveniently forgotten about the 3-year-old interview.
Iggy responded to Minaj's Madden clap back, co-signing the story that he attempted to work with Minaj. "This is facts," she wrote before adding, "I'm not on no one side but Steve lying like shit." She also called the designer a "fuck boy" before scrubbing her comments from the internet. Iggy deleted both tweets, but nothing on the internet is truly gone forever.
