He was caught on video, though...

There's really no use denying something that has been captured on video. Still, for some reason, Donald Trump is trying to convince people that he didn't actually refer to Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, as Tim Apple. This is something that very clearly happened and it was pretty funny. Trump does not own up to his mistakes though, even a silly one like this. According to him, he actually said "Tim Cook Apple." It's just that the "Cook" was extremely soft. Riiiiight...

According to political website Axios, the President says that his flub on Friday night never actually happened. In his words, it's "fake news." Yesterday, Axios reported that Trump has been telling people that the mishap is not a real thing. "Trump told the donors that he actually said ‘Tim Cook Apple’ really fast, and the ‘Cook’ part of the sentence was soft. But all you heard from the ‘fake news,’ he said, was ‘Tim Apple.’"

If you've seen the now-viral video, you can clearly tell that Donald says "Tim Apple" when praising the man sitting next to him. "I mean you’ve really put a big investment in our country. We appreciate it very much, Tim Apple," said the President of the United States.

According to the Huffington Post, the official government transcript shows that Trump did, indeed, say "Tim Apple." Cook even changed his name on Twitter to reflect his new presidential nickname.
