Mortal Kombat 11 will ramp up the series' most brutal component, the Fatalities. As a child, my friends would memorize all the Fatalities so that they could truly disrespect their opponent when achieving a victory. According to ScreenRant, NetherRealm Studios held a reveal event on Thursday (January 17) that gave those attending an in-depth look at several aspects of the gruesome fighting game.
Kronika, the franchise's first female boss, was introduced in game footage. Her servant, Geras, is a new playable fighter. Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Baraka, and others have been confirmed as playable characters as well. Fatalities have been a classic and important part of Mortal Kombat culture since the beginning, and NetherRealm provided a detailed look at the Fatalities system in the new game. A minute-long trailer was released at the event that shows off the graphic update to Fatalities. Decapitations, fatal stabbings, helicopter propeller caused mutilations, and blood magic highlight some of the best murderous Fatalities in the trailer. The graphics in the new trailer look gorgeous, stepping things up from Mortal Kombat X greatly. It's been four years since the last Mortal Kombat game touched down, so fans are ready to get their hands on this new title ASAP. MK 11 drops on April 23.
