The notion of Colin Kaepernick coming back to the NFL is one that seems pretty far off at this point. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has pretty well made it clear that he's not a fan of the league for blacklisting him and has even launched a lawsuit against them. Regardless, there are always rumors surrounding Kap and whether or not a team will finally take a chance on him. Cris Carter, an analyst on FS1's First Things First, threw the idea around today that the New England Patriots could be interested in picking up Kaepernick once Tom Brady retires.
"The replacement for Tom Brady might not come from the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if the Patriots looked at Kap," Carter explained. "The Krafts are very, very fond of Colin Kaepernick. If someone will do it, it will be the people in New England."
Carter's theory is pretty out there and based on the comments of the above tweet, not many people are feeling what he's saying. Kaepernick hasn't played in two seasons and by the time Brady actually retires, Kap could potentially be four to five years removed from professional football. That much time away from the game would be hard for anybody.
Do you agree with Carter on this one?
