Most recently, reports surfaced suggesting that Justin Bieber was currently dealing with issues of mental health, with sources close to the singer revealing that he had "struggles" and that he was receiving treatment for his mental bout.
Now, the 25-year-old has offered up his own perspective, essentially supporting the claims that he has been having struggles of the mind and issued a brief statement on Instagram to update fans on his status. It was under a photo in which Justin is seen praying with Kanye West and his manager Scooter Braun that he assured fans he was facing his issues "head on" and that he would "bounce back."
"Just wanted to keep you guys updated a little bit hopefully what I’m going through will resonate with you guys," Bieber penned in the caption. "Been struggling a lot. Just feeling super disconnected and weird.. I always bounce back so I’m not worried just wanted to reach out and ask for your guys to pray for me. God is faithful and ur prayers really work thanks .. the most human season I’ve ever been in facing my stuff head on."
Sources do maintain that Bieber's struggles have nothing to do with his recent marriage to Hailey Baldwin and that the couple is still happily together. Back in February, though, Bieber opened up about his own abuse of Xanax as a means of coping with his past.
"I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed," he told Vogue. "I think there were times when my security was coming in late at night to check my pulse and see if I was still breathing."
In that interview, he admitted that he had since quit the drug and was cutting back on excessive drinking.
