NBA commissioner Adam Silver kicked off the All Star festivities in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday night with the annual "All-Star Technology Summit," a platform for discussions about the future of basketball and the ever-changing role of technology.
As part of the All Star Tech Summit, Silver introduced the mind-blowing "jersey of the future," which features the ability to change name and/or number with the touch of a button, as seen in the videos embedded below.
According to ESPN's Marc Spears, Silver also addressed several other futuristic changes that could be implemented years down the line.
For instance, Silver mentioned the possibility of fans entering games with face recognition without being stopped by a ticket taker, the ability for a fan abroad to watch the game from the perspective of a fan in the arena via their Google glasses, hologram mascots and personalized game experience based on your profile.
