Ever since Donald Trump was elected as President of the United States in 2016, the Russian government has been questioned for helping to swing the vote. It's been a controversial subject, much like everything else revolving around the current White House, and it's still being discussed to this day. In an exclusive interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Jon Stewart and Dave Chappelle touched on political topics and Chappelle offered some real talk in the video.
The comedian touched on the fact that Russian hackers and the government influenced the election of Donald Trump, joking that whether or not they actually did, there's a deeper problem. "Even when they say that Russia influenced the election, it's kind of like, is Russia making us racist? Is that who's doing it? Oh OK, oh my God, thank goodness -- I thought it was us." He went on to joke that "if [Russia] killed the country that way then we're the murder weapon." Chappelle also thinks that Trump gets too much credit when it comes to defining the current era as he made a very clear point: "He's not making the wave, he's surfing it."
The full interview with Chappelle and Jon Stewart will air today on CNN. Watch the clip in question below.
