"Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures" is coming in December.

Star Wars is about as deep-rooted a cultural touchstone as it gets. For anyone born in North America (or probably the world, for that matter) since the 70s, it's impossible to remember a time in your life where you weren't aware of Star Wars. Now, Lucasfilm wants to take our cultural Star Wars-immersion to the next level, with the development of a new series aimed at kids who aren't old enough to watch movies. Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures will be a series of short animated YouTube videos that each recap a Star Wars movie. The language of the trailer is, as you can tell, geared towards kids: "in the star wars galaxy, adventure awaits in a thrilling new series of shorts. So team up with your friends, grab your lightsaber, fix your starship, use the force and stand up to evil."

James Waugh, of Lucasfilm, explained what their trying to do with the new series: “With Galaxy of Adventures, we wanted to craft something that allowed parents to help their kids take their first step into a much larger world whether they were ready to show their kids the films or wanted to find new ways to explore the content.”
