Lily Collins and Zac Efron attend the screening of "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" during the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival at BMCC Tribeca PAC on May 2, 2019 in New York City.
Lily Collins says she received messages from Ted Bundy's murder victims.

When you're preparing for a role, you need to really get into character. Zac Efron has spoken at length about his experience playing Ted Bundy, one of the most notorious serial killers of the last century. Lily Collins, who portrays Bundy's girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil & Vile, had a very unique experience when she was getting herself ready to take on the acting job. The actress claims that while filming the biopic, she received messages from a number of Ted Bundy's victims' spirits, which she explained in a new interview.

Collins spoke to The Guardian about some strange activity that occurred during the holiday shooting schedule. On a nightly basis, she would wake up at 3:05 AM and each time, things would get a little more spooky.

"I would go downstairs and have a cup of tea, trying to figure out why I had woken up again," she explained, before stating that graphic images started to pop up in her mind. "I started being woken up by flashes of images, like the aftermath of a struggle . . . I discovered that 3 a.m. is the time when the veil between the realms is the thinnest and one can be visited. I didn't feel scared—I felt supported. I felt like people were saying: 'We're here listening. We're here to support. Thank you for telling the story.'"

Whether or not you believe in supernatural forces, you've got to admit that this is pretty creepy. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil & Vile premiered on Netflix today.
