The best artists treat every element of their craft with the utmost care. In that sense, it's no surprise that Drake's music videos are often impressive spectacles, from the charitable feel-good story of "God's Plan," to the Degrassi reunion "I'm Upset," to the viral-marketing-centric "In My Feelings." Of course, due credit must be given to director Karena Evans, who held it down behind the camera for the entirety of his Scorpion visual campaign. The Canadian director quickly grew to be one of Drizzy's trusted collaborators, not unlike 40 or Ali, and she proved responsible for helming all four of his video drops.
In honor of their creative partnership, both parties took to Instagram to celebrate their successful year. "Thank you for everything this year," writes Drake, alongside a photo of the pair embracing. Evans posted the same picture, reflecting on how 2018 was her "favourite year of all time." Respect to the Canadian spelling.
It stands to reason that the union will continue, whenever Drake decides to drop off some new visuals - be it for Scorpion or his next album. Big shout out to Karena Evans for holding it down as one of the most successful young directors in the game.
