With the All Star festivities taking place in Steph Curry's home state of North Carolina, Under Armour will be releasing a special version of the Curry 6 inspired by a prank that took place on Curry's 21st birthday.
"We went to a little Japanese steakhouse to celebrate, and decisions were made to jump in the koi fish pond at the restaurant. I was the decoy distracting the hostess while Steve [Rossiter] jumped in and tried to grab one of the fish," Steph says, per Under Armour. However, security cameras caught it all, and the footage eventually made its way to Davidson College men's basketball head coach Bob McKillop a week later.
"We were in the gym running sprints for a good two hours," said Stephen. "And then we had to go back to the steakhouse and stay at the front door for four hours as greeters!"
Inspired by those events, the Curry 6 "Coy Fish" colorway, homophone intended, is a nod to the vibrant beauty of the koi fish, featuring a bright yellow fully knit upper, a full-length HOVR midsole and a water-like clear outsole.

Paul George will be lacing up a multi-color version of the Nike PG3 when he takes the court for Team Giannis in the All Star Game this Sunday, but fans can cop the kicks starting today, February 15. The kicks serve as a nod to George's love for fishing and the outdoors, as well as Nike's ACG line.
Per Nike:
"PG knows it’s one thing to brave the elements, but it’s another thing to embrace them. In the game’s biggest moments, PG carries the belief that no matter the environment or intensity, All Conditions means all conditions. Designed to go further and push beyond limits, the PG 3 “All-Star” combines PG’s love for fishing and the outdoors with the performance innovation, vibrant heritage, and design mantra of the Nike ACG line."
