Twas' the night before Christmas, and Cardi B continues to flex on the naysayers. Some believe she has already gone mad with power, though in reality, she has earned the right to a little bit of chest pounding. After all, few have come to dominate the charts like she has, as evidenced by her plaques on plaques on plaques. In fact, the sheer marketability of Invasion Of Privacy placed her in a uniquely exclusive crowd: the double platinum club. As she's quick to point out via Instagram, only three albums hit the milestone in 2018. Her own, Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys, and Migos' Culture II.
Cardi reflected on the RIAA statistics with a well-earned boast. "Keep in the family !! Only three albums went 2X platinum this year," she writes, once again rekindling the narrative that her and Offset are once again moving as a unit. Of course, she could be alluding the the shared Quality Control connection, though it's certainly safe to assume that the familial connection is more in line with her and Offset's penchant for commercial dominance.
Of course, it's a big accomplishment for Migos as well; though some felt Culture II failed to live up to the hype, it certainly gave us no shortage of bangers, including "Narcos," "Walk It Talk It," "Made Man," and "Motor Sport."
