Young Justice ran for two seasons and garnered a loyal fan base before it was canceled. There are rumors that a deal with Mattel going down the drain hurt the bottom line, causing Cartoon Network to ax the show. It's been over five years since Young Justice aired its last new episode, but DC is reviving the series after the collective DC internet nation pleaded for new content. Now that the comic book company has started their own streaming service, Young Justice will get its highly anticipated third season.
Entitled Young Justice: Outsiders, the new season will bring in dozens upon dozens of characters. A new trailer for the series touched down this week, and the plot of the latest season is teased. According to the heroes, an organization is kidnapping meta-humans and selling them as weapons to the highest bidder. Older heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman join the younger heroes such as Nightwing, Aqualad, and Superboy to help free the imprisoned meta-humans.
Along with the heroes we all know and love, DC will be introducing "brand-new characters, many of whom are just discovering their unique meta-powers and special abilities." Young Justice season three touches down on January 4, 2019.
