The Red Sox are having a rough start to the season.

Last season, the Boston Red Sox tore up Major League Baseball as they won 108 games and ended up going on to win the World Series. Things haven't gone as well this season though as the team is 14-18 to start the year and is currently ranked 4th in the AL East. While most teams would make tactical adjustments to get better, the Red Sox have decided that will no longer be playing the popular Battle Royale game Fortnite in the clubhouse.

Fortnite has been played by millions of people and has been lauded for its fun and revolutionary gameplay mechanics. The game has become quite the distraction for athletes and their teams and as it turns out, the Red Sox are no different. There isn't an official ban on the game, although it appears as though the players have realized they have bigger and better things to focus on.

Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi spoke to WEEI about the situation, saying that the game wouldn't be a problem if the results on the diamond were adequate.

"Maybe if we were doing a little better maybe we would be doing it," Eovaldi explained. "But you can’t be losing and playing Fortnite in the clubhouse."

The Red Sox are 5-5 in their last 10 games and have struggled on the road with a record of 6-11.
