The hackers made purchases and talked to people.

Being the biggest videogame in the world, it's only natural that Fortnite has begun to be targeted by all types of people trying to cash in or make a statement. There are, of course, the lawsuits that keep piling up from what seems like anyone who's ever even thought of shaking their hips or waving their arms, even those who willingly submitted their dances to be in the game. Now, though, the games is not just being targeted by Orange T-Shirt Kid's mom, but also by hackers.

The company that takes care of cybersecurity for Epic Games, Check Point Software, apparently first reported that the game had been breached in November, when they brought the news to Epic, who say they took it seriously. The gap in the game's security has been plugged since, but not before hackers logged into users' accounts, bought stuff, and chatted with the users' friends.

A spokesperson for Epic said: “we were made aware of the vulnerabilities and they were soon addressed. We thank Check Point for bringing this to our attention. As always, we encourage players to protect their accounts by not re-using passwords and using strong passwords, and not sharing account information with others.” Problem solved?
