Earlier this week, 21 Savage was freed after being held in ICE custody when it was revealed that he was actually a British national. Savage moved to the United States when he was seven-years-old and built a life in Atlanta with his family. Although he is now back home, he's still facing some major obstacles in the form of Donald Trump's immigration laws. It's being reported that Trump wants to deport people who are currently pending visa approval, which leaves 21 Savage in a tricky spot. On a positive note, he's back with his family and that is due to the major wave of support he experienced from politicians and artists alike.
21's mother, Heather Joseph, has written a lengthy note to everybody that helped spread the word about her son's situation. "So Very Thankful...to all the wonderful Fans of 21Savage," wrote Heather before thanking Hank Johnson, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and others. "To Jay Z, Cardi B, Offset, J Cole, Metro Boomin, Kei, Justin and all the many many other amazing people who either spoke out and/or offered comforting words of support...To the amazing Publicity team who together worked tirelessly to keep the facts out there, to make it possible to have national awareness of his situation and helped to gather tremendous support from wonderful people from all walks of life.. We are truly thankful and forever humbled...THANK YOU."
Joseph shared an image of herself and her son reunited as they hopped on a private plane back home. Hopefully, 21 Savage and his family get everything settled with ICE so he can no longer live in fear of being deported.
