Diddy may want to consider laying low for a minute. Not 24 hours after a shooting at a CIAA after party at Charlotte, NC's Sheraton hotel, which he hosted alongside Future and Fabolous, another occurred during a release party for Rick Ross' Mastermind album at a DeKalb County, Georgia nightclub, which he also co-hosted.
As reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, it seems a DJ was shot and wounded in a firefight with police officers outside The Velvet Room in the early hours of the morning. According to DeKalb Public Safety Director Cedric Alexander, two off-duty officers responded to gunshots in the back of the club at approximately 4 a.m. The DJ in question apparently fired on the officers when they confronted him, at which point they returned fire, wounding him in the leg. He was arrested and subsequently transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
"For whatever unknown reasons, it appears that this DJ who was involved in the shooting with some others turned and shot at the officers, and that's when they returned fire," stated Alexander. "They were doing what they were trained to do... they took all the necessary actions to protect themselves and each other."
Diddy and Ross' exact whereabouts during the shooting are unknown at this point, and the DJ's name has yet to be released. The officers have been placed on administrative duty for the time being. Stay tuned for updates.
