Though many would likely dub it the world's most "magical place," Disneyworld is about to get even more expansive. It was previously reported that the iconic theme park would be adding a new Star Wars section called "Galaxy's Edge," complete with a variety of rides and attractions. Now, the release date for the launch has been unveiled: California's Disneyland version will open on May 31st, while Florida's Disneyworld version will open on August 29th. Unfortunately, the parks have yet to be completed to their full capacity, meaning that only one of the two announced rides will be available from the jump.
The aforementioned rides, which include "Smugglers Run" and "Rise of the Resistance," have already garnered up plenty of interest from prospective guests. "Smugglers Run," which will be available upon opening date, will allow guests to sit in the driver's seat of the iconic Millennium Falcon. Later this year will come "Rise of the Resistance," which has been dubbed by Disney CEO Bob Iger as "the most technologically advanced and immersive attraction we have ever imagined.” Unfortunately, that one's only dropping later this year, so consider planning your trips accordingly.
Any fans of Disneyland and/or World up here? If so, what do you think about this new Star Wars park?
