It's insane to think that over the course of Adam Sandler's illustrious career, he's never hosted Saturday Night Live. Many comedians end up getting their big break on the show after starring in their skits and Sandler is one of those people. However, Sandler has never actually returned to grace the stage as a host. According to Decider, he was opposed to accepting a hosting gig on SNL for years but things must have changed because next month, the actor will be starting off the show with his trademark wit during his first-time-ever hosting gig.
The announcement was made today and instantly, people got pretty excited for the May 4 episode of the late-night variety show. Sandler is a favorite for many, having starred in several of our favorite movies over the years, and to see him act out a few more sketch comedy acts will be refreshing. The show made Sandler into a household name but he was never truly interested in coming back as a host, previously saying, "There are guys who love doing it — who are great at doing it … I just don’t know how good I’d be doing it. I did what I can do on the show."
Musical guest Shawn Mendes will be joining Sandler on the episode. Are you looking forward to watching Adam Sandler's hosting debut on SNL?
