LeBron James has been spending the last few weeks recovering from a groin injury he sustained on Christmas Day in a win over the Golden State Warriors. It's still unknown exactly when LeBron will return, but reports say he will be missing the Lakers latest road trip and will miss at least two more games, although he has been cleared for practice.
James' agent Rich Paul commented on the stars return and how fans have been waiting for LeBron to come back. Considering the Lakers are 4-7 without him, some want LeBron to rush back into action.
“We don't give a sh*t what nobody thinks or says,” James’ agent Rich Paul told The Athletic. “We're going to do what's best for him. The best-case scenario was three weeks, the worst-case was six weeks, and we're right on schedule. He'll improve his workload, and he'll be day to day from there.”
Paul has been vocal about LeBron's return, saying that he has nothing to prove at this point and won't be forced to return before he needs to.
“Look, LeBron is in his 16th year, and he's a proven guy,” Paul added. “He doesn't owe nothing to nobody. When he's ready to be back, he'll be back. It's as simple as that. Until then, he's going to root his teammates on and try to help them as best he can.”
The Lakers are 24-21 and are ninth in the Western Conference.
