Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook is on pace to average a triple-double for the third straight season, yet he's still receiving criticism from pundits who contend that his stats are over blown. That said, none of those opinions matter to the NBA's triple-double king.
During a brief media session Wednesday afternoon, Westbrook was asked about dealing with people criticizing his game, and he delivered a perfect response that included the following opener: “I’ve been blessed with the talent to not give a fuck."
Westbrook's full comments, per NewsOK.com:
“Regardless of what happens, it doesn’t change the way I live, what I think. I have an unbelievable family. Great friends. An unbelievable life. Unbelievable job. I make a lot of money at my job. I’m extremely blessed, thankful, humble. I haven’t been in trouble. I don’t cause no problems. I’m perfectly fine. I’m living my best life and I can’t complain one bit. He say, she say, what somebody says about shooting, passing, dribbling, every year it’s something … they’ve got to make up something about me, which is fine, it’s good. One thing I always know is if they’re not talking about you you’re doing something right.”

The 30-year old guard recently notched his 10th consecutive triple-double, breaking Wilt Chamberlain's mark of nine straight set in 1968. Through 48 games this season, Westbrook is averaging 21, 11 & 11, though he's shooting just 41.2% from the field and 24.4% from 3-point range. However, as he noted, he's still living his best life.
OKC, winners of nine of their last 10, are currently sitting in third place in the Western Conference with a record of 37-19.
