With the playoffs on the horizon, the Golden State Warriors are looking to beef up the squad in order to make another easy run to the NBA Finals. Just yesterday, the team announced that they signed Andrew Bogut to a short term contract that will last until the end of the season. Bogut has been playing in Australia for the Sydney Kings and will be going back there as soon as his contract ends. For Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, signing Bogut was a must as they felt he was one of the best players on the free agent market.

"We looked at this as an insurance policy in the front-court," Kerr told The Athletic. "A guy who obviously knows our system, knows our players. He's great for our offense - his dribble hand-offs, passing ability, lob threat - and defensively he's been one of the best in the game for a long time."

The Warriors have struggled defensively as of late so Kerr is hoping Bogut can come into the lineup and provide the team with a bit of a spark.

"He's healthy, he's fresh," Kerr said. "We have to look ahead to the playoffs for different matchups, and we felt vulnerable particularly in case of injury and against certain matchups."

As of right now, the Warriors are first in the Western Conference with a record of 44-20.
