The Boston Red Sox are World Series champions, and the players and fans are making sure that the New York Yankees read all about it.
Following Boston's series-clinching, Game 5 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Red Sox fans started "spreading the news," celebrating the city's latest championship on social media while trashing the Yanks in the process. Lil Wayne, who was at Dodger Stadium for last night's victory, was among those who took to twitter with a message for the Bronx Bombers.
"I witnessed the Red Sox win the World Series live!! ✅ that off the bukket list!!! But the best part abt it was having 1 of my kids there with me. Unforgettable for us both. Oh yea & YANKEES SUKK!!!!! Big Bz"
Red Sox players also celebrated in the locker room by blasting Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" as yet another jab at their hated division rivals. The iconic song turned into Boston's anthem after Yankees sluggers Aaron Judge played it on his boombox as he walked through Fenway Park following New York's Game 2 victory in the ALDS. The Sox went on to win that series in four games and haven't stopped trolling since.
