Olympic gymnast Simone Biles took the world by storm with her impressive displays of athleticism while part of the gold-medal-winning team often referred to as the "Final Five" at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Biles, 21, has since gone on to capture the hearts of the American public with her personality and spirit, proving to be quite the symbol of success. Her latest feat cements her status as a hard worker even further.

Mere hours ahead of the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Biles was hospitalized, and unable to practice. "Nothing like a late night ER visit less than 24 hrs before world championships," she tweeted. "This kidney stone can wait.... doing it for my team! I'll be gucci girls." Biles proved to an unstoppable force and did not let her hospital visit her performance -instead, she flew to Qatar and competed without having surgery to remove the kidney stone. "We will deal with it after world championships! fingers crossed it stays okay!" she responded to a concerned fan on Twitter.

Biles went on to succeed tremendously. Not only was she was the event's highest ranking gymnast, but she also pushed the United States team to the number one spot. Placing highest for the beam, individual all-around, floor, and vault during the qualifying rounds, Biles secured a place in the finals.
