The New England Patriots will be visiting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday for the AFC Championship game. The winner will be going to the Super Bowl for a chance at the historic Lombardi trophy. While the game will see two offensive juggernauts face off against one another, it appears as though the weather is going to be a bit of a hindrance on the game. Accuweather is reporting temperatures of -1 Fahrenheit with the wind chill.
Despite this weather, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick isn't worried. Although his team went 3-5 on the road this season, he's excited for the team to travel to Kansas City.
"Love to play in the championship game," Belichick explained according to ESPN. "Schedule it wherever you want. We'll be there."
The Patriots will have a lot to prepare for. The Chiefs have the number one ranked offense in the league, while quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been a complete wild-card out on the football field. Belichick explained how the team consistently practices outside and how they will do their best to prepare for whatever wild conditions may appear on Sunday.
"We definitely do that. In some cases, we can practice that way. In some cases, we can't," Belichick said. "If we're able to utilize a practice tool prior to the game because of the way that the circumstances fall, then great. And if we're not, then we prepare mentally and talk about how we want to do certain things or whatever the issues are."
The game will be played at 6:40 P.M. EST on Sunday and will be televised on CBS.
