A scary moment occurred last night for the Milwaukee Bucks when Giannis Antetokounmpo took an elbow to the head, limiting him to a season-low 19 minutes of action. Giannis later confessed to blacking out in the moments that followed. The knock was suffered at the hands of Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon as he attempted a shot attempt over Giannis on the block. Giannis remained in the game for a short while before getting pulled for the 3rd quarter as he underwent concussion protocol, only to return in the 4th with the game seemingly out of reach for the Magic.
"I just got hit in the head," Antetokounmpo said. "I tried to block the shot, I fell down. I don't remember much after that, but I've got to be careful with that because I could have a concussion and stuff. We did some tests in the second quarter and then I did some tests in the third quarter. It was just a hit in the head."
Giannis, unsure of his prognosis at the time, reiterated his desire to put his body (and perhaps his brain) on the line for the greater good of the team. "I was probably blacked out. Because I don't remember. I just remember the hit. But I'm fine. I tried to return, I'm a warrior," he added.
The Bucks win was their 6th in a row to start the season.
