Mike Epps previously stated that he didn't want to join the cast of How High 2 but it looks like he's had a change of heart. Deadline reports the actor has reprised his role as Baby Powder for the film which is due out this spring. Epps serves as the only original cast member to join the film.
MTV shared the film's opening credits earlier today which revealed the star-studded cast and revealed a first-look at the film. Of course, Lil Yachty and DC Young Fly will be the stars of the film but they've also revealed that the film will also include cameos from the likes of Lil Baby, Blac Youngsta, NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, and Justine Skye. The film will also star Alyssa Goss, DeRay Davis, and Mary Lynn Rajskub.
Per Deadline, the film follows "two young “potrepreneurs” on a magical hash-fueled journey to fund their on-demand munchies delivery start-up."
The film's sparked a lot of controversy since its announcement. There have been talks surrounding the sequel for nearly a decade at this point. However, Redman revealed that he and Method Man weren't even contacted for the sequel. Apparently, Universal thought it would be better to get two younger people so they decided to get DC Youngfly and Lil Yachty for the film.
What happened is that a branch that’s under Universal decided 'we're gonna shoot this movie.' And they did not need permission from us because we didn’t own the rights to How High,” he said. "Bottom line, this branch of people decided 'why don't we get someone younger to do the movie?' And that's when they came about Lil Yachty & DC Youngfly."
