Last night in New York City Trinidad James came out to perform at the Converse Rubber Tracks event. During his set, he took some time to talk to the crowd and what he had to say didn't go over too well with the New Yorkers.
Trinidad bashed the NY rap scene, saying it has fallen off, adding that Southern rap is currently running shit. The rap phenom ranted, "I remember when New York ran this shit, dog. When Dipset was fucking turned the fuck up...What the fuck happened, dog? I remember when New York rap was the shit. And us in the South, we was like what the fuck, and we just did our own thing. But now we run yall musically. That's crazy."
Following his controversial statement, Trinidad took to Instagram to respond to what he said.
"I said a lot tonight in NY and people are prolly gonna take the negative and run with it but my main purpose in life only is to take care of my mama and keep my shoe game on "30 million" . Other than that if I can inspire a young person to be the best person they wanna be along the way....then cool. Nothing else matters.#CrazyDeacon #BlackBatman"
