21 Savage validates his dry spell on "I Am > I Was."

21 Savage's new project I Am > I Was is making believers out of computer stains. A mere 10 hours into its unfolding, the project is receiving an overwhelmingly positive reception - even the Based God chimed in with glowing support (the very antithesis of a curse). With the wheels turned ever-so-slightly on the right axis, 21 proved that a short hiatus can do wonders for your creative juices.

When the tracklist for I Am > I Was surfaced a week ago, many among us questioned the authenticity of the news leak, but in the end, Yung Miami, J. Cole, Post Malone, Gunna, ScHoolboy Q, and Childish Gambino all showed up on queue, and it certainly justified the price of early admission.

21 Savage dug deeper lyrically - he diversified his production portfolio for a more varied soundbase, all without sacrifice the edge to his personality. 21 is still more likely to "hit you in the jaw" than pay you lip service at a bottom-dollar rate, would you want it any other way?

Incidentally, the internet has spoken, and they seem to like the subtle changes almost as much as his reflexive personality. And on a day where other artists such as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Young Scooter, and The-Dream released projects, 21 Savage is sure to hog all the attention. Some of the concurrent releases were even dragged into the Twitter discussion on a negative scale. See for yourself.
