When the Golden State Warriors announced the signing of DeMarcus Cousins last summer, many believed that the Golden State Warriors would become even more unstoppable. With a starting five of Cousins, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, And Draymond Green, the Warriors were clear cut favorites to win a third straight championship. Cousins missed the first half of the season with an injury to his Achilles, but came back in January. Lately, the Warriors have struggled on defense and have lost five of their last eight games which has led some to blame Cousins for the lack of chemistry. For Green, this simply isn't the case.
"I think so many people are kind of looking at the starting lineup and saying, 'Oh, DeMarcus is in there and the defense is worse,'" Green said after practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN. "But our defense has been horses--- no matter who's in there. It's easy to look at the numbers and think the numbers tell a story, but the fact of the matter is we haven't been competing."

Cousins commented on the team's recent struggles, saying it's just a matter of time before he becomes more accustomed to his assignments.
"It's an adjustment trying to figure things out," Cousins explained. "In how we want to play with the coverages. I'm trying to meet the needs in the coverages that they want."
The Warriors are first in the Western Conference with a record of 44-20.
