A lot went down at last night's MTV VMAs. We got the announcement of a new Eminem album, a Danity Kane reunion, as well as a slew of memorable performances, including Justin Timberlake and Drake. One thing that may have flown under the radar was Lady Gaga's announcement that a collaboration with Too Short would be appearing on her new album ARTPOP.
Gaga was fairly tight-lipped about the track, but Short himself spoke with MTV today, giving a little more insight into the collab. "I was doing some songs last year with one her producers, DJ White Shadow." he said. "He’s been pretty busy, doing his thing around the world and he got back at me a little while ago and said, ‘There’s a song that Lady Gaga’s doing that possibly they would want to get you on’ … so I said, ‘shit I’m down with it!’
Short also revealed that the song will be debuted in a live performance that he will take part in, and overall expressed excitement for the opportunity. "I figure on her end it's great to work with the classics or the legends and on my end just it's great to work with one of the hottest artists on the planet. It's a big fucking deal."
Still no word on whether Kendrick Lamar will show up on the album.
ARTPOP drops November 11th.
