Cardi B made history as the first female solo act to win the Grammy award for Best Rap Album. This career highlight quickly turned sour thanks to the negative feedback that followed listing reasons why the rapper should not have received the honor.
In a now deleted post, Bardi went on a tirade against her haters. "It's not my style for people to put other people down to uplift somebody else. That's not my style and that's not what I'm with. I don't support that," she said before popping off.
"However, I'm seeing a lot of sh*t today and I saw a lot of bullsh*t last night... I work hard for my motherf***kin album. I remember last year when I didn't win for 'Bodak Yellow' and everyone was like 'Cardi got snubbed...' Now it's a motherf***kin problem?!," Cardi continued. "I locked myself in the studio for 3 months, my n***a. Didn't go to sleep in my bed sometimes for four days, pregnant... while everybody was harassing me like 'You can't do it...'"
A new post came through after the video's removal. The screengrab show's Chance The Rapper defending her achievement and encouraging his colleagues to wear her success with pride. "This is overly deserved, the album was front-to-back hits," he wrote. "It would be inconceivable not to honor u last night."
