We would all love to forget "Spider-Man 3"

Although Kevin Feige is the name most people connect to the MCU, Avi Arad is the man who created Marvel Studios. The film division of Marvel was steered by Arad for years: he's produced everything from the Blade movies and the cartoon series X-Men Evolution, to the first Iron Man film and every Spider-Man movie to ever be released. That means Arad oversaw the first Venom, played by Topher Grace, in Spider-Man 3. We would all love to forget about that film, and Arad recently sat down with ScreenRant and took the blame for the horrible Venom display.

Sam Raimi directed the first three Spider-Man films, but he has been candid about the third film for years now. Raimi at first took the blame for Venom, claiming that he was forced to include the black symbiote in the third film. Raimi neither understood nor liked Venom as a character, which could be easily discerned with how carelessly the character was handled in the film. Arad, who produced the movie, is taking the blame off of Raimi now though.  "I think we learned that Venom is not a sideshow," stated Arad, commenting on the lessons he's learned from the first shot at bringing Venom to the big screen.

"In all fairness, I'll take the guilt because of what Sam Raimi used to say in all of these interviews feeling guilty that I forced him into it. And you know what I learned? Don't force anybody into anything. Therefore, (Sam) wasn't interested in the inside to make how is Venom like us? How do we deal with the Venom, and Marvel is all metaphors." I'm sure Tom Hardy will do a much better job.
