Despite not releasing an album this year, Nicki Minaj is at the top of her game. She's turned in some pretty hard features, and most notably, placed within the top 5 hip hop earners of the year. These are some pretty impressive feats in the male-dominated industry of hip hop, and while the Queens emcee has accomplished a lot by herself, she's also been vocal in her appreciation for those that have helped pave the way for her-- one of which being Queen Latifah.
On an appearance on Latifah's talk show (which will air in full later this week), Nicki paid respect to the legendary rapper. “You’ve opened so many doors for me and so many other women" says Nicki in the preview. "And it’s insane because I always reference you when I talk about female rappers who’ve, like, kinda paved the way in terms of a business woman and mogul and just all-around entertainer.”
Minaj continued to thank the Queen for the honor. “To be sitting here doing your show, it’s just a great moment for Hip Hop," she said.
