In the last couple of months, brands like Nike, Adidas, and even Converse have attempted to bring back vintage high top sneakers from the 80s and 90s. For Converse, the model they seem most keen on bringing back has been the ERX-260, a bulky high-top that was once seen as a premier basketball shoe. The iconic brand even employed the likes of Don C to help design some pretty flashy colorways of the shoe. Now Converse is teaming up with Takahiro Miyashita of TheSoloist to create a pretty sleek and stealthy version of the ERX-260 that couldn't be any more different than Don C's interpretation.
Instead of laces, Miyashita insists on a bulky zipper going down the middle, while black leather and suede panels dress the entire upper of the shoe. On the tongue, TheSoloist imprints its "I Am The Soloist" branding in white writing which adds a pop of color to the shoe. While the vast majority of the shoe is dressed in black, the outsole comes in a translucent blue. On the bottom of the outsole, "Hello! I Am The Soloist" is written in black.
