Surprisingly enough, Lil Wayne hasn't received any nominations at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which was also the case at the BET Awards earlier in the summer. The New Orleans emcee has been fairly lauded in the past, but he won't be involved in either ceremony at all this year.
Instead of blaming the award show committees, the New Orleans emcee seems to have accepted the fact that he may not have earned the distinction this time around. He responded to the lack of recognition in a tweet yesterday, apologizing to his fans and assuring them that he'd be working harder, even if it kills him. His latest album, I Am Not A Human Being II, has sold less than 600,000 copies since its release in March, and his September 2012 mixtape "Dedication 4" met with lukewarm reviews across the board.
Since making the announcement, he's also revealed the artwork for his upcoming "Dedication 5" mixtape with DJ Drama, which will apparently be dropping on the 30th of this month.
Wayne is in the midst of the America's Most Wanted Festival Tour with T.I. and 2 Chainz, and he'll be appearing on a new single from the latter called "I Do It", which'll also feature Drake. Read his tweet below, and view the cover art in the gallery above (it was designed by OllyCarterzGFX).
