Jeremy Lin burst onto the NBA scene back in 2012 with the New York Knicks when he kicked off his career with the "Linsanity" craze. Eventually, Lin was run out of town when his spotlight upset than injured star Carmelo Anthony who returned and pretty well kept Lin off the score sheet. Since then, Lin has bounced around the league a bit but has still remained a solid player, averaging 11.8 points per game. Lin has spent this season with the bottom-dwelling Atlanta Hawks, but according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Hawks are set to buy out his contract. This will allow Lin to sign a contract with the 41-16 Toronto Raptors.
Lin will be going from the 12th ranked team in the Eastern Conference to the second-ranked team. At this point, the Raptors are serious contenders to go to the NBA finals and maybe even do a bit of damage. With Kyle Lowry, Kawhi Leonard and now Marc Gasol on the roster, Toronto is looking to make a deep run and Lin adds some depth to an already deep squad.
The Raptors take on the Brooklyn Nets tonight in Toronto, although it doesn't appear as though they'll have Lin in time for the game.
