The Houston Rockets set an NBA record for most three-pointers made during last night's 136-118 victory over the Wizards, draining 26 of their 55 attempts. As Bradley Beal put it (H/T ESPN), they "shot the shit out of it."
The Rockets were sitting on 25 made three-pointers with roughly 30 seconds remaining in the game when Michael Carter-Williams buried the record-clinching shot. The 26th three eclipsed the 25 made by the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Atlanta Hawks on March 3, 2017, according to ESPN.
"We knew that if we didn't at least attempt it, we would have heard it in the locker room," said Carter-Williams, a career 25.4% 3-point shooter. Harden added, "Not even us -- the crowd; the crowd would have attacked them."
Eight different players contributed to the three-point onslaught, including James Harden who hit 6-of-11 from behind the arc en route to a game-high 35 points. Chris Paul hit five threes, while Eric Gordon and Gerald Green each hit four a piece.
After a sluggish start to the season, the Rockets have now won five straight and seven of their last 10 as they've climbed to 16-14 for the year.
They'll look to continue their scorching offensive production tonight in Miami when they take on the Heat in a nationally televised game airing on TNT at 8pm ET.
