DMX is one of the game's most beloved artists, with his first four albums making for one of hip-hop's best runs. Now, looking back on decades in the game, X has once again found himself where it all began: in a studio with Swizz Beatz. Over twenty-years removed from "Ruff Ryders Anthem," the duo appear to be once again cooking up, presumably for DMX's upcoming comeback album. For anybody who experienced X's prime, the idea of an imminent return is certainly exciting, especially given the recent tribulations the rapper has faced.

If it's any consolation, the image reveals X looking particularly healthy, even mustering the slightest hint of a smile. While it's hard to say what a new DMX album might sound like, it's good to know that Swizz Beatz will be playing a pivotal role in shaping the sonic aesthetic. All we need now is for Dame Grease to return to the fold, and call Drag-On and The LOX to link up for one of those classic posse cuts.
Respect to DMX and Swizzy, who has remained a steady presence in the rapper's life since the jump. While details on X's upcoming album remain scarce, comments from Busta Rhymes and E40 point to a noted support system from some of the game's OGs. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely anticipating some new music from DMX, one of the greatest to ever do it.
