In order to maintain their status as elite athletes, college football players have to undergo strict training regiment and a solid diet that will help them achieve their fitness goals. Well, for the Clemson Tigers who recently won the NCAA Football National Championship, that all went out the window when they visited the White House on Monday. President Donald Trump decided to cater a "fast food only" event to welcome the players.
Tigers players weren't complaining though. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence told TMZ that he loved the fast food spread and that he hopes to be back in the future. Of course, he'll only be returning if he wins a couple more National titles.
"It was awesome," Lawrence said while engaging in some photo ops with Clemson fans. "We had McDonalds and everything. It was good!"
Before the event, Trump commented on his catering choice, saying:
"Because of the shutdown, you know we have the great Clemson team with us, the national champions. So we went out and we ordered American fast food, paid for by me," Trump said. "Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza."
"If it's American, I like it. It's all American stuff," he added. "300 hamburgers, many, many french fries -- all of our favorite foods."
