Kodak Black has been on a hot streak since releasing his new album Dying To Live. The Florida rapper was praised by the likes of Drake for the emotional, introspective lyrics. Drake texted Kodak saying "The bars you are rapping about friends and your purpose is so pure. What got you there? Like you are almost talking from this god level bird's eye view of your own life." The rapper even had a stand-out performance of the song "Testimony," while on Jimmy Kimmel. In a new video, Kodak shows off how he recorded the track "Malcom X.X.X," which was a tribute to the late rapper XXXTentacion.
In the video we see him sitting in a chair in front of some recording equipment, excitedly reciting the lyrics to the song off of a notepad. You can even hear members of Kodak's crew talking about their excitement for the new track.
Kodak offers some of his most poignant lyrics wall talking about X saying "X was tryna buy a bike and he got gunned down/X was tryna change his life, but he got burned down/X wasn't ridin' with no pipe so he got gunned down/Listen, do as I say, don't do as I do/Nine out of 10, it ain't gon' end up lookin' good for you."
