Sheek Louch, Fat Joe, & Havoc explore the grittiest path.

Old heads, we eating today. On the verge of dropping off Beast Mode 3, LOX legend Sheek Louch has come through with the aptly titled "New York Shit," tapping a few good local boys for the cause. With Fat Joe and Havoc in the cut, Sheek sets it off with an opening verse, taking to a raw, chime-driven boom-bap instrumental. "Twenty years in this game, me Kiss and Ghost," celebrates Louchiano. "We stay away from the corny rappers that do the most, gangsters, our careers ain't even close." Havoc comes through next, echoing Sheek's perspective with a heavy dose of veiled menace.

Fat Joe's gravitas is the perfect cap-off to the gritty, dark, anthem. "Still keep guns in the panel, shot him through his flannel out the pocket of my Louis Campell," spits Joey Crack, before capping off with a bizarre yet effective flex: "My daughter seen a squirrel, said 'look dad, a chinchilla!'" Be sure to check this one out, if you have any love for the New York hip-hop scene. And if you're reading this, of course you do.

Quotable Lyrics

My daughter seen a squirrel said 'look dad, a chinchilla
Up in the Bronx, more killers we been realer
I catch a body like that n***a Shotti
Run up in your lobby with the mini shotty, body everybody
