Anthony Davis was drafted first overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. He's been a powerhouse player for the team ever since. The 5x All-Star might find it difficult to bring a championship to his city, but over in Los Angeles, his presence could bring him to the 'Ship. Lebron James spoke with ESPN's Dave McMenamin this week, and praised Davis while stating the obvious. “That would be amazing, like, duh. That would be incredible," he answered when asked about Davis joining the Lakers.

ESPN was able to grab Davis for a reaction comment, and the talented big man was pleased but not impressed. "I don't really care," Davis stated of LeBron's comments on Wednesday night after the Pelicans' loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. "Obviously, it's cool to hear any high-caliber player say they want to play with me. But my job is to turn this team around. If we're 15-17, that means I'm not doing my job." Davis has been dedicated to the Pelicans since he landed there. He won't be available as a free agent until 2020. This upcoming summer, Davis will be eligible for a 5-year, $239 million supermax extension contract that the Pelicans can offer a year in advance of his unrestricted free agency. The new structure of supermax deals was conceived by the player's union and the league to help teams in smaller markets keep their superstar players, instead of seeing them run away to join a super team.
