Disney can't be too happy about this. When Sony and Disney made a deal to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the former set a strict timeline for when the movies would need to be produced. If Disney had it their way, Spidey wouldn't be getting a sequel so soon. His imminent arrival tipped Disney's hand in their Avengers: Infinity War game plan. They would have preferred that the audience had no clue that Peter Parker would be coming back after turning to dust following Thanos' snap. Instead, they are entering a promo season for Spider-Man: Far From Home around the same time Avengers: End Game is doing the same. Although the "how" of Peter Parker's revival will remain a mystery until April, we now know when we'll see a trailer for his next movie.
Tom Holland, who has been guilty of slipping leaks during interviews, announced that the trailer for Far From Home will be debuting today (Wednesday, January 15). The trailer was first shown exclusively to the fans at Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) 2018 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is assumed that we will get to see the same trailer. We do know that Jake Gyllenhaal will play Mysterio, and he will be battling the Elementals along with Spider-Man. "There are these threats to the world, the Elementals, elemental creatures," Gyllenhaal revealed during the CCXP panel. "And Mysterio is someone who knows about them and wants to make sure that the world is safe from them. And Nick Fury asks him to come on and help because he's the only one who really understands them. And then he teams up with friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and unfortunately has to make him become more than a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man."
