Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have some big plans up their sleeves. According to Deadline, their production company that they've co-founded, Westbrook Studios, partnered with Apollo World Touring for a new initiative that'll bring celebrities out to the Formula 1 racing circuit. The initiative will have celebrities doing pre-filmed stunts and challenges. The partnership will also bring live performances to the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend.
Westbrook Studios and Apollo World Touring teamed up after Will Smith's The Bucket List episode where he and his song Trey competed in a one-on-one race at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. They got some pointers from Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Sean Bratches, F1’s Managing Director of Commercial Operations, said, "As we continue to build F1’s entertainment and content offering, partnering with Will and Westbrook and the team at Apollo is an amazing opportunity to attract even more star power to F1 and the Grands Prix around the world, engaging with an even wider audience.”
The new partnership is to help F1 gain a broader audience and draw in new fans while giving their day-one watchers some new content to sink their teeth into.
"I’ve always been a massive fan of the Formula 1 world and fell even more in love with the sport while shooting an episode of Will Smith’s The Bucket List with Lewis Hamilton at last year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. F1’s commitment to creating engaging and inspiring content for its fans mirrors our mission at Westbrook Studios. The synergy of our storytelling is undeniable, and I’m excited for fans to join us on this wild ride," Bratcher said.
